Fasting in the month of Ramadan is not only a purification of the soul but also a solution to many problems of the body. Medical experts have confirmed various physical benefits of fasting.

In 1994, a conference called “Ramadan and Health” was held in Casablanca, Morocco. The conference reviewed 50 articles to list down several health benefits of fasting and revealed incredible improvements in the health of people who fasts.

According to the papers presented at the conference, negative effects were recorded on the health of those who ate too much food during Iftar and did not get enough sleep.

Fasting brings the following benefits to our body.

Benefits of fasting

Relax the body

The human body is like a constantly working machine. However, just as a machine needs time out to keep working, our body also needs some rest to perform well. In Ramadan this can be done easily, eating less for a month will relax our body and prepare it again for work all year long. Its a great benefit of fasting to our body.

Get rid of various diseases

According to health experts, fasting helps in controlling cholesterol, blood pressure, obesity and many stomach and liver-related illness.

Liver

Fasting gives the digestive system a rest for a month. It has an amazing effect on the liver because the liver performs 15 more functions in addition to digesting food, which slows down its performance.

Heart

During fasting, the amount of blood decreases, which relaxes the heart too. The heart also performs its function in sleep and coma and constantly supplies blood to the body. Relaxing heart is one of the key benefits of fasting during Ramadan.

Cells Breakdown

The reduction in the amount of fluid between cells also slows down the breakdown of cells. During fasting, when the nutrients in the blood are at their lowest level, the bone marrow begins to move. As a result, physically weak people can easily produce more blood by fasting.

Weight loss

The month of Ramadan is a rare opportunity for those who want to lose weight but can’t continue their momentum for any reason. In Ramadan, the amount of calories is reduced a lot and thus weight loss occurs as a blessing in disguise.

Get rid of waste products

After spending a long part of the day in fasting, the toxins and other waste products in the human body are eliminated, thus the body gets rid of waste products. It also calms the heart and mind.

Get rid of bad habits

Fasting teaches us to control ourselves and control our desires. By fasting continuously for a month, we can get rid of various addictions in our normal life such as smoking, drinking and bad language.

Benefits of Taraweeh

During the month of Ramadan, Taraweeh works out at night, which not only brings spiritual benefits but also keeps the human body healthy.
