Orphan Care

Orphan Care supports children who have lost parental care by providing safe living environments, education, nutrition, and emotional wellbeing. Through residential care, family support, and monitored sponsorship, children are supported from early childhood through to independence and self-reliance

Protecting Childhood, Building Futures

Orphan Care supports children who have lost one or both parents by providing stable care, protection, and long-term development opportunities. The programme focuses on creating safe environments where children can grow with dignity, access education and nutrition, and develop the skills needed to become self-reliant adults.

By addressing both immediate care needs and long-term development, Orphan Care helps reduce vulnerability and supports lasting outcomes for children and their families.

Why Long-Term Care Matters

Children without parental support face heightened risks related to poverty, disrupted education, poor health, and emotional distress. Without stable care and guidance, these challenges can continue into adulthood, limiting opportunities and wellbeing.

Providing consistent care, education, and protection enables children to develop confidence, stability, and the foundations needed for a secure and independent future.

How the Orphan Care Programme Creates Impact

Orphan Care delivers support through a combination of residential care, family-based assistance, and structured follow-up to ensure children’s needs are met effectively.

Boarding and Residential Care Facilities

Orphans without adequate family support are provided with safe boarding and care facilities where education, nutrition, healthcare, and emotional wellbeing are fully supported. Children remain in care until they are equipped to live independently.

Education and Scholarship Support

Education is supported from early learning through to higher education. Where appropriate, degree-level education is sponsored through scholarships, enabling young people to develop skills, qualifications, and long-term livelihood prospects.

Support for Widowed Mothers

To help keep families together and reduce instability, widowed mothers of orphaned children are supported with safe housing. This approach strengthens family units while ensuring children grow up in secure and nurturing environments.

Sponsorship for Orphans in Guardian Care

For orphans living with extended family or guardians, sponsorship funding supports education, nutrition, and general wellbeing. Dedicated case workers regularly monitor each child’s development and ensure funds are used effectively and in the child’s best interest.

Longer-Term Outcomes

By providing stable care, education, and protection, Orphan Care supports children to grow into healthy, confident, and self-sufficient adults. Over time, this approach strengthens families, reduces intergenerational vulnerability, and contributes to more resilient communities.
